Starting in 1998, Ford changed their fuel system design from a "return" style fuel system to a returnless system. Using a conventional 255LPH fuel pump in your 98-04 Mustang will lead to premature failure. The only viable option is to run a complicated external pump, or use an OEM high-flow fuel pump that is specifically designed to be run in a returnless fuel system. The best part about an OEM original Ford fuel pump is that it is designed to run quietly and reliably for years to come! No other 255LPH intank fuel pump even comes close to the GT Supercar pump for the 98-04 Mustangs. Please note that the picture shows the complete GT Supercar assembly, you'll remove the actual fuel pump motor from the assembly and install that into your Mustang module for that application.
